Danbury’s FuelCell Energy said its second-quarter net loss more than doubled, due mainly to lower product sales.
The company booked a net loss of $16.6 million, or 7 cents per diluted share, compared to a loss of $8.2 million, or 4 cents, in the second quarter of last year.
Revenue declined nearly 10 percent, from $42.4 million to $38.3 million. FuelCell said the increased quarterly loss was impacted by the company’s installation of a 14.9-megawatt fuel cell park in Bridgeport last year, which generated some revenue in the prior-year quarter.
